The Opportunity
We are recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist (CAMHS & Adult) to join a well-established regional mental health service in Western Australia. This is a permanent or fixed-term opportunity available on a full-time, part-time, or sessional basis, offering the chance to provide clinical leadership and shape the delivery of high-quality community mental health care across a diverse population.

Your Role

  • Deliver high-quality psychiatric assessment and treatment in a community-based setting across CAMHS and adult services.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and expert advice to multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and contribute to service development initiatives, including implementation of best-practice mental health frameworks.
  • Chair clinical reviews and ensure compliance with relevant mental health legislation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, GPs, and community organisations to ensure integrated, patient-centred care.
  • Support teaching, mentoring, and professional development of junior medical staff and trainees.

The Successful Candidate

  • Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in general adult and/or child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills with a commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Interest in rural/regional mental health and service development.
  • UK/Ireland trained psychiatrists eligible via the Expedited Specialist Pathway are encouraged to apply.
